Chiral gold nanostructures show macroscopically strong optical activity due to excitation of chiral plasmon. Recently, we developed a new measurement method of local optical activity in nano-materials using scanning near-field optical microscope, where linearly polarized near-field light locally illuminate the sample, and left- and right-circular polarization components of transmitted light is detected separately. In the present study, we applied this method to rectangular gold nanostructures, and tried to visualize local polarization characteristics of plasmonic fields in the periphery of the nanostructure.
