The blood vessel plaque with a lipid core has a risk of thrombus and is likely to bring on acute heart disease. We have already proposed the method for identifying lipid domains by changes in the ultrasonic propagation velocity by near-infrared light or ultrasonic heating. In this report, I studied the ultrasonic velocity-change method using the RF hearting device. The commercially available RF heating device was to heat the pseudo blood vessel phantom. It was confirmed that the ultrasonic velocity-change image clearly displayed the pseudo unstable plaque.
