[21a-S611-10] Pressure tuning of ultra-high Q crystalline WGM resonator and second harmonic generation

When a crystalline whispering gallery mode (WGM) resonator is employed, nonlinear optical wavelength conversion can be achieved with a small pump power and simple experimental setup. In this study, we developed a pressure-induced resonance tuning method of LiNbO₃-WGM resonator towards a continuously tunable optical parametric oscillator based on a crystalline WGM resonator. We inserted piezo actuator inside the resonator, which enabled us to apply pressure to the resonator efficiently. In addition, we tuned the second harmonic light as a proof-of-principle of applicability of our method to optical parametric oscillation.
