Recently, terahertz sources based on intracavity difference-frequency generation (DFG) in dual-wavelength mid-infrared quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) have been demonstrated. In this talk, we present ultra-broadband room temperature terahertz QCL sources based on intra-cavity DFG, emitting continuously more than one octave in frequency between 1.8 and 3.7 THz.
