Keywords:terahertz-wave,nonlinear optics

Terahertz-wave and Optical pumping waves interacts each other in a nonlinear optical crystal. Terahertz-evanescent waves generated at crystal surface by total internal reflection can obtain the terahertz frequency information of samples set at the interface facet. The reflected terahertz wave interacts with optical pumping waves again, so optical pumping waves also have sample information. By observing optical pump waves after the interaction, the information at terahertz range can be obtained indirectly. The interaction efficiency was drastically increased using optical waveguide structure, and CW sensing was successfully demonstrated.
