We have studied on the simple and compact birefringence measurement system by using a liquid crystal cell as a phase shifter. However, conventional measurement system requires mechanical rotation devices to measure the phase distribution of arbitrary sample achieve optical axis distribution is unknown. In this study, birefringence measurement system without any mechanical rotation is investigated by using ±45° twisted nematic liquid crystal cells.
