[21p-P15-7] Study on lateral shear properties of twisted nematic cell and its application to the differential interference contrast (DIC) imaging

Differential interference contrast (DIC) observation is powerful tool for the week phase sample such as a biological cell. Then, DIC prism which is an important element is usually extremely expensive and the shearing distance is fixed. If we use a LC cell as a DIC prism, electronic tunable DIC system can be attained. In this work, we investigated the lateral shearing property of TN LC cells aiming to utilize it as the DIC prism.
