Ionic wind has been widely used for various applications such as cooling systems, fans and electrostatic precipitators. However, mechanisms of aerosol-particle collection mechanisms by ionic wind have remained unclear yet. In this study, as the first step toward a better understanding of such mechanisms, we have developed a compact ionic wind generator and examined ionic wind characteristics.
