△ [21p-W641-14] Visible-Light Photovoltaic Effect in BiFeO3-based Ferroelectric Thin Films –Materials Design based on Gap-State Engineering–

In this presentation, we introduce a material design based on gap-state engineering for an enhancement of visible-light photovoltaic (PV) properties in BiFeO3 (BFO) ferroelectric thin films prepared by a pulsed-laser deposition method. We report an enhancement of the PV effect of the BFO films by Mn-doping. In addition, mechanisms of the improvement in the PV effect will be discussed based on a PV tensor analysis and electronic structure calculations.
