We have irradiated soft x-ray laser pulses with picosecond pulse duration at QST as well as femtosecond pulse duration at SACLA onto material surfaces. Then, we observed modified surface structures induced by the both ultra-short pulse soft x-ray lasers. In the presentation, we will discuss experimental results of soft x-ray laser ablation obtained by picosecond and femtosecond soft x-ray laser pulses.
