[5p-C22-5] Development of Hertzian contact probe for concrete measurement

Couplant-free measurement is important for realizing ultrasonic nondestructive testing in aged concrete structure. We developed a couplant-free probe based on strong acoustic coupling using Hertzian contact. However, dominant mechanism of transmission frequency is not revealed. In this study, we obtained frequency designing guideline by observing vibration mode of piezoelectric element, prototyped the probes, and demonstrated a possibility of transmission measurement in a concrete structure.
