The robustness, durability and flexibility of materials are crucial for the development of high performance flexible devices in the applications of electronics, photonics and soft robotics. Although their functional deterioration by surface strain under deformation process is suppressed using highly stretchable conductive materials, there are few researches focusing on the control of strain over materials’ surface. In this study, we employed liquid crystal elastomers possessing different elastic moduli depending on their molecular orientation direction, and evaluated mechanical properties of the elastomer films.
