Keywords:solar to hydrogen energy conversion, DCDC converter, solar cell

Solar to hydrogen energy conversion is an promising technology for a power output fluctuation absorber, a large capacity long-term energy storage, etc. For a flexible system design, a DCDC converter should be inserted between solar cells and electrolyzers. In this study, a fail-safe design policy of solar cell - transformerless converter - water electrolyzer system is proposed. The I-V characteristic of a solar cell and the inductor in a transformerless converter are keys of this research.
