[6a-S41-9] Structure Determination of the Pt(111) Electrode Surface during Electrochemical Reactions by Using Time-Resolved X-ray CTR Scattering

We have developed a method that can measure a CTR profile on the time scale of seconds or less by using angle-convergent, wavelength-dispersive X-ray beam. In this paper, we show the potential of the method for the time-resolved structure determination of electrochemical interfaces. During the electro-oxidation of methanol, we observed a transient structural change of the Pt(111) electrode surface, which represents a behavior of reaction intermediate CO layer.
