[6p-C13-7] Investigation of low-loss graphene mid-infrared optical optical modulator
Keywords:optical modulator, graphene
Graphene, the two-dimensional honeycombed material, has been considered as an ideal material for opt-electric devices because of its unique properties. We simulate graphene optical modulator operating at a wavelength of 3000 nm. When the wavelength is changed from 1550 nm to 3000 nm, the change in chemical potential of graphene required for phase modulation can be reduced. Thus, the graphene optical modulator is expected to exhibit low-loss phase modulation with a realistic gate voltage application.
