Owing to the strong light-matter interactions, atomically thin films of transition metal dichalcogenides have attracted much attention for applications in optoelectronics. Here we demonstrate highly-sensitive photodetection using transistors based on atomically thin WSe₂ covered with electron trapping surface oxides.
