We have been studying to realize a magnetic hologram memory using a collinear system with a bismuth-substituted rare earth iron garnet as a recording medium. To improve the quality of the reconstructed image, we have studied from two ways; one is to improve diffraction efficiency of the recording media, and the other is to improve recording conditions including optical system. As a result, error-free recording and reconstruction of magnetic hologram was achieved for the first time. This suggests that the magnetic hologram has a potential as a memory.
