▼ [6p-S44-19] High Photocatalytic Performance of Silver Doped Titanium Dioxide Nanofibers
キーワード:metal doped TiO2, photodegradation, photocatalytic hydrogen production
A series of metal-doped TiO2 nanofibers (metal/TiO2 NFs) are prepared by combining the hydrothermal synthesis and thermal treatment without reduction process. Eleven types of metal nanoparticles, including Ag, Au, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Ni, Pd, Pt, Y, and Zn, were individually doped into TiO2 NFs to test the photodegradation performance of organic dyes and photocatalytic hydrogen production. Consider photocatalytic performance, Ag/TiO2 NFs was chosen to further study. Then, a systematical study was carried out to find the appropriate calcination condition and doping concentration for preparing the high catalytically active Ag/TiO2 NFs. For the photodegradation of methyl orange in UV irradiation, 0.5mol% Ag/TiO2 NFs calcined at 600oC exhibits the highest activity in UV irradiation. In addition, Ag/TiO2 NFs also have the capability in the photocatalytic hydrogen production. The hydrogen evolution rate is 500 μmol/g·hr for 0.5mol%-Ag/TiO2 NFs under UV irradiation. The developed process is simple, cost-effective, safe and allows producing a series of high-performance photocatalysts without the need for hydrogen reduction procedure.
