Hot electron bolometer mixers are constructed by a superconducting strip and metal electrodes, and overlapping areas where electrodes overlap on the strip are essential for good electrical connection. However, we believe superconducting thin films in this overlapping region act to suppress the formation of hot spots by LO irradiation due to the proximity effect, leading to a decrease in mixer sensitivity. In this study, we have investigated a new HEBM structure that inserts a magnetic thin film between the superconducting strip and metal electrodes. The magnetic thin film suppresses the superconductivity under the electrode, and makes superconductivity exist only in the superconducting strip between the electrodes. Details of IF bandwidth evaluation etc. will be reported at presentation.
