[7p-PA2-10] Broadband Mid-IR supercontinuum generation from air-cladding silicon waveguide

We attempt to generate a supercontinuum light source in Mid-IR region by a wavelength dispersion-controlled silicon waveguide. Since conventional Si photonic devices with SiO2 cladding induce huge optical absorption in this wavelength range, an air-cladding structure is proposed to obtain optical transparency in the Si waveguide. As a result, an efficient and broadband Mid-IR light source is realized over wavelength range from 2 to 5 μm.
