△ [7p-S43-9] Joints between GdBa₂Cu₃O_7-δ coated conductors by solid diffusion of the precursor

Joints between REBCO layers are required for the application. In this study, Gd-Ba-Cu oxide microcrystals were deposited onto GdBCO CCs as precursors, and two pieces of them were held together in a face to face manner, and then crystallized and jointed at 1093 K with a pressure of 10 MPa.
Cross-sectional TEM observation of the joint interface showed that two GdBCO CCs were adhered strongly at the jointed area and GdBCO crystals oriented to c-axis at the joint interface. From these results, the validity of this joint process was proved.
