[7p-S44-14] Fabrication of thermo-plasmonic bead and its phothermal effects in water

Naoya Sekimoto1, Shin-ichiro Yanagiya1, Akihiro Furube1 (1.Tokushima Univ.)

Keywords:Thermoplasmonics, Microbubble, Gold nanoparticle

The micro glass bead, which were covered by gold nanoparticles, was fabricated and studied for the thermos-plasmonic nano heater. Thermo-plasmonic beads were prepared through two-step seeding and growth. First, micro glass beads were modified with silane coupling agents during 18 hours. Then modified micro glass beads were mixed in chlorouric acid solution during 20 minutes with magnetic stirrerring. After that, thermos-plasmonic beads were treated by reduction agent. The thermoplasmonic bead generates plasmonic bubbles and convection flow around the bead by laser illumination of the wavelength of 473 nm or 530 nm.
