In our research group, we developed the growth method of suspended graphene nanoribbon (GNR) by plasma CVD, where the Ni nanobar is used as a guide and catalyst for GNR growth. In this work, we carried out GNR growth with different kinds of nanobar catalysts. Through the systematic investigations, it is found that GNR can be directly grown from various nanobars, such as Co, Fe, and Cu. Furthermore, the maximum length of GNR can be over 10 µm with Cu nanobar, which is about 20 times longer than that of GNR grown from Ni nanobar. This ultralong GNR grown from Cu nanobar can be useful for further various types of optoelectrical devices.
