We irradiated Ge₂Sb₂Te₅ phase change materials with intense terahertz (THz) pulse train derivered from free electorn laser and found that ablation was induced when the fluence of THz pulse is larger than a specifc value. We observed the surface profile and confirmed that the THz-indued abalatin area consist of two regions that are radomely formed black area in the center and surrounding line-shaped area. This result suggest that non-thermal field-induced play important roll for ablation process.
