[8p-A405-9] New design and fabrication of micro total analysis system for the purpose of applying to terahertz spectroscopy
Keywords:terahertz, microchip, nonlinear optical crystal
A terahertz (THz) polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) microfluidic chip was developed and demonstrated for ultra-trace analysis of liquid by using locally generated THz waves in the near-field region. In contrast to conventional far-field THz spectroscopy, our technique features the localized emission of coherent THz pulses on a sub-wavelength scale, which has a potential for high-sensitive THz spectroscopy. From the measurement of glucose water solution with different solution concentration, it is found that the peak amplitude in the obtained time-domain waveform increases with an increase of the solution concentration. As a result in this study, we could show the possibility of ultra-trace measurement of liquid with THz waves and our developed chip can be available as a high-sensitive THz microchip.
