[14a-311-9] Observation of iron phthalocyanine ultrathin film growth by four-point probe conductivity measurement
Keywords:organic thin film, electrical conduction
We have investigated the electrical conductivity change of a metallic substrate by the adsorption of Iron(II) Phthalocyanine (FePc) molecules by using a UHV-compatible four-point probe. Because ultrathin In films on Si(111) were used as the substrate, the FePc-induced decrease of electrical conductivity was measured with high sensitivity. In addition, the crystallization of the FePc film was found to lead to further decrease of electrical conductivity. These results suggest that the conductivity measurement is a useful tool for monitoring the initial growth stage of organic thin films on metallic substrates.
