A new aluminum-silicon-nitride phosphor containing boron was prepared by heating binary nitride powders at nitrogen pressure. X-ray single crystal analysis revealed that it crystalizes in a trigonal cell (space group P3c1). It emits yellow light (peak wavelength 565 nm) by 400 nm light irradiation.
