In this study, we focused on the system of well-ordered n-alkanes monolayer film on Au(111) as a model of organic/metal interfaces. We aimed at obtaining the information about the interaction between organic molecule and metal by using Au(111) Shockley surface state which is localized at the surface region of Au substrate.
We discuss the modification of Au(111) Shockley surface state observed by using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) in terms of molecular coverage dependence and temperature dependence, respectively.
