△ [14p-411-10] Energy Transfer and Luminescence Properties of Nonanuclear Rare-Earth Clusters including Terbium and Gadolinium
Keywords:Rare Earths, Complexes, Energy Transfer
Nonanuclear rare-earth clusters are composed of nine rare-earth ions forming an inorganic lattice, which is surrounded by butyl salicylate ligands. In this study, we focused on terbium and used gadolinium as spacers to control the rate of energy transfer between terbium ions. From emission lifetimes and rate equation analysis, concentration quenching was found to be negligibly small in this cluster. Herein, we proposed a novel design strategy for increasing luminescence efficiency in phosphors by utilizing energy transfer.
