We demonstrate the capability of forming single-nanometer-sized optical vortex fields using designed plasmonic nanostructures. The orbital and spin angular momenta provided by a Laguerre-Gaussian beam are transferred to localized plasmons of a metal structure and confined into a nano-gap of the plasmonic multimer. Theoretical analyses and experimental results show that the nano-sized chiral field can induce optical torque, which leads to orbital rotational flow of nanoparticles in nano-space.
