We have been developing sensors for bacterium, Legionella and we found that the cells emit fluorescence by the UV light irradiation just when they are trapped and forced to limit their motion in narrow spaces. However, in the conventional optical system of fluorescence detection, a large device such as a fluorescence microscope is necessary, and integration with the optical sensor is necessary for downsizing.we successfully detected fluorescence of LegionellaDumofii using a fluorescence sensor and a microchannel chip.
