[15a-311-7] A simulation study of exciton dynamics in organic semiconductor thin films

Keywords:exciton, electronic-structure calculations, quantum dynamics

Understanding energy conversion processes is essential to rational design of organic optoelectronic devices such as organic solar cell and organic light-emitting diode. We have been developing a real-time simulation method for exciton dynamics in organic semiconductors based on the fragment orbital method for electronic structure calculations and a quantum dynamic method. In this presentation, we show results for exciton dynamics in dinaphtho[2,3-b:2’3’-f]thieno[3,2-b]-thiophene thin films and discuss a role of charge-transfer states in excitation dynamics.
