[15p-416-10] Development of flexible elastomer ultra-thin films with adhesion properties to biological tissue surfaces
Keywords:elastomer, nanosheet, adhesion
For the development of bio-harmonized electronics, soft, flexible, and stretchable materials with high adhesion properties to biological tissue surfaces are crucially important. This study focuses on ultra-flexible elastomer nanosheets (thickness: < 1 μm, Young’s modulus: < 1 MPa) consisting of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS). The eveluation of their adhesion properties to biological tissue surfaces demonstrated that the adhesion energy increased as the thickness of the films decreased. Elastomer nanosheets (600 nm) showed ca 4 times higher adhesion energy than bulk films (800 μm).
