[15p-E204-1] Development of GPS and related scintillators and their applications

Junichi H Kaneko1 (1.Hokkaido Univ.)

Keywords:scintillator, GPS, La-GPS

Gd2Si2O7:Ce(Gadolinium Pyro-Silicate, GPS) is a kind of rare-earth oxide scintillator that has high light yield equal or greater than that of NaI:Tl, decay time of 50-120 ns with no deliquescence or intrinsic-radioactivity. In this talk, scintillation properties of GPS and La-GPS single crystals will be summarized. In addition, development of polycrystalline GPS scintillator plates for alpha and neutron measurement will be talked.
