Precise integration of π-conjugated units is a key issue to achieve molecular electronics devices based on organic semiconductor materials. We fabricated a thin film of high density π-conjugated functional groups. Bithiophene containing polymer was synthesized through three steps. The monolayer property of the polymer at the air-water interface was investigated by π-A measurement. The thin films were fabricated by Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique. Only a small amount of poly(N-dodecylacrylamide)(pDDA), which has high film-formation ability, enables π-conjugated polymer monolayers to transfer onto solid substrates. The transferable mixing ratio of the π-conjugated polymer to pDDA exceeds a percolation threshold in a two-dimensional system (45 mol%). The molecular orientation of the bithiophene-containing side chain will be discussed by analyzing FT-IR and fluorescence spectra.
