[16a-422-10] Power Distar Amplifier composed of Light-Emitting Diode and Si Solar Cell
Keywords:LED, Si solar cell, distar
The author invented an epoch-making transistor composed of an infrared light-emitting diode and a silicon photodiode in 2011, and he named the novel device “distar”. The distar operates in the same way as the conventional bipolar transistor. Using the distar, it is possible to make a voltage amplifier with a voltage gain more than 40dB. Moreover, current amplifier and power amplifier can be fabricated by combining plural LEDs and silicon solar cell whose light receiving area is far broader than the silicon photodiode. Recently, he developed a fifty-watt class practical stereo audio amplifier using the distar amplifiers composed of high-power red light-emitting diodes and silicon solar cells. Moreover, he designed a fifty-kilowatt super-power distar. This paper introduces such high power distars and the systems using them.
