Tilted-multilayer thermoelectric devices based on off-diagonal thermoelectric effect consist of a thermoelectric material and a metal. This effect can enhance the output power compared to that of π-type thermoelectric device.
In this report, we designed and evaluated Fe2VAl0.9Si0.1/Cu tilted-multilayer thermoelectric device. We investigated the geometry where we could obtain the highest power factor, PF. From the result of simulation, the highest PF of 1.2×10-2W/mK2 was obtained at the thickness ratio of 0.95:0.05 (Fe2VAl0.9Si0.1 : Cu) and at the tilt angle of 27° . This PF value was about 4 times as high as that of Fe2VAl0.9Si0.1. Fabrication method and output power of the Fe2VAl0.9Si0.1/Cu tilted-multilayer device will be represented at the poster session.
