[16a-P6-16] Calculation of thermoelectric properties of Mn-based full-Heusler alloys

Kei Hayashi1, Yuzuru Miyazaki1 (1.Tohoku Univ.)

Keywords:metal, electronic structure, thermoelectric properties

A good thermoelecrtic material requires high Seebeck coefficient, high electrical conductivity, and low thermal conductivity. Generally, metals show high electrical conducitivity and low Seebeck coefficient. However, it is reported that half metallic full-Heusler alloys, Co2MnSi, have a potential to show relatively high Seebeck coefficient as well as high electrical conductivity. In this study, we present calculated rsults of thermoelecrtric properties of Mn-based full-Heusler alloys using the elecrtronic structure calculation and Boltzmann transport theory.
