[16p-301-3] Neuromorphic Functions Created by Oxide Nanoionics
Keywords:oxide, nanoionics, synaptic plasticity
Using ion transport in oxide thin films, we demonstrate that oxide-based nanoionic devices can emulate the synaptic plasticity underlying memory functions in the human brain. Owing to the simple device structure and no need of software preprogramming, nanoionics devices have a possibility to overcome various problems in current CMOS-based neural network circuits such as scalability and power consumption. The concept and the current status of oxide nanoionics will be discussed.
