[16p-501-1] Highly efficient spin injection into semiconductors using a half-metallic spin source

Tetsuya Uemura1 (1.Hokkaido Univ.)

Keywords:spin injection, semiconductor spintronic device, nuclear spin manipulation

Spin injection from ferromagnetic electrode into semiconductor is an important technology for implementation of viable spintronic devices, such as spin transistor or spin laser. In this talk, we will show our resent activities on the fundamental technologies for spin transistors; Highly efficient spin injection using a half-metallic spin source of Co-based Heusler alloy and gate modulation of spin-dependent transport properties in the semiconductor channel. Furthermore, we will show a coherent manipulation of nuclear spins by spin injection.
