[16p-F206-9] Development of Artificial Nucleotide Identification Method by Tunnel-Current

We designed and synthesized the uridine derivatives, in which a uridine molecule is covalently linked to thiophene (TP) or tetrathiafulvalene (TTF). For these artificial nucleotide, we investigated tunnel-current measurements using our nano-gap-electrode devices. From these molecule signals, larger conductance values were observed, relative to a natural nucleotide (uridine). In addition, it found that the magnitude of its molecular conductance is closely related to each of the HOMO energy level of these nucleobase. These designed artificial nucleotides would be useful for probe molecules for a single-molecule tunnel-current sequencer.
