[16p-P9-34] Development of LiCaAlF6:Eu2+ Ceramic Scintillators

LiCaAlF6 crystal is an inorganic scintillator material which is commertialy available for neutron detections. As it is used as a single crystal form, the production cost is high; therefore, our next approach is to investigate LiCaAlF6:Eu2+ ceramics as alternative solutions. In this study, we have synthesized LiCaAlF6:Eu2+ ceramics and characterized as neutron scintillator. Although the scintillation light yield is lower than that of single crysta, the light yield, at best, of 7,600 ph/n has been confirmed.
