[17a-P4-30] Study on lateral shear properties of twisted nematic cell and its application to the differential interference contrast (DIC) imaging (Ⅱ)

Differential interference contrast (DIC) observation is powerful method for the thin transparent sample such as a biological cell. Then, DIC prism which is an important element is usually extremely expensive and the shearing distance is fixed. If we use a LC cell as a DIC prism, DIC system which is an electronic tunable and a simple structure can be attained.In this work, We simulated polarization states in LC layer of thick cell and thin cell, and investigated a variation of the lateral shearing property by some cell parameters.
