[17p-414-2] Effect of Spontaneous Raman Scattering on Intensity Modulation and Direct Detection Quantum Key Distribution

〇(M2)Satoshi Maeda1, Kyo Inoue1 (1.Osaka Univ.)

Keywords:quantum key distribution

QKD(quantum key distribution) utilizing single-photons is considered to be difficult to be wavelength division multiplexed with signal lights of conventional optical communication systems, due to spontaneous Raman scattering from the conventional signal lights. In contrast, IM/DD(intensity modulation/direct detection)-QKD, that we have previously proposed, is expected to scarcely suffer from the spontaneous Raman scattering, because the quantum signal light power used in the protocol is relatively large. Thereupon, this paper studies influence of spontaneous Raman scattering when IM/DD-QKD systems are wavelength multiplexed with conventional optical communication systems.
