Metal nanoparticles can be utilized for plasmonic devices, catalyst etc.. In this experiment, we propose a new scheme Laser-Induced Dot caught On Source target: LIDOS. In the scheme, thin film target is processed by a laser, and nanoparticle detached from nanodrop via liquidly process of the film is caught on the source target. In the experiment, gold film targets with thickness in between 30 and 100nm were used. An interference pattern (Λ=1.93 mm) of a femtosecond laser (240fs) irradiated the targets with at the averaged fluence of 58.6, 73.2 or 169.9 mJ/cm2. The averaged radius of the caught gold nanoparticles varied in between 82 and 188nm, and the minimum s.d. was 3nm.
