Keywords:laser sintering, low melting point alloy, Li ion battery

In this presentation we will report a structural control of SnBi sintered layers (thickness: several to several tens um) by laser irradiation using a low meting point metal SnBi, which can be melted at a low temperature (< 200 degree Celsius). We also found that porous SnBi structures can be generated from the sintered layer by utilizing the difference in ionic potential between Sn and Cu. As one of the application using the unique porous structures, characterization of a negative electrode in a Li ion battery will be demonstrated.
