[18p-222-8] Controlling the arrangement of DNA-functionalized nanoparticles using cations

Nanoparticle crystals have attracted attentions for using as metamaterial. Functions of nanoparticle crystal depend on not only nanoparticle species but also inter-particle distance and periodicity. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the method for controlling the arrangement of nanoparticles. Recently, controlling structure of nanoparticle crystal was succeeded using DNA-functionalized nanoparticles (DNA-NPs). In this method, structure of nanoparticle crystal was determined by DNA base sequence and nanoparticle size. However, we found that the arrangement of DNA-NP can be controlled by cations in the solution without changing DNA base sequence and particle size.
