Keywords:time-resolved magneto-optical Kerr effect, Rashba effect

The giant Rashba effect occurs at a silver(Ag) and bismuth(Bi) interface due to the broken space inversion symmetry and large spin-orbit coupling in Bi. Moreover, the spin-to-charge conversion at the Ag/Bi interfaces has been reported. It is expected that the interfaces have an effect on the magnetization dynamics in ferromagnetic films adjacent to a Ag/Bi bilayer. Therefore, we investigate here the magnetization dynamics, especially damping factors, in the permalloy/Ag/Bi multilayers by using time-resolved magneto-optical Kerr effects.
