△ [19a-224B-7] Purity improvement of (6,4) single-walled carbon nanotubes by controlling plasma parameters

We have succeeded in high purity synthesis of (6,4) SWNTs by controlling the surface condition of the nanoscale catalyst for the first time. In this study, we focused on correlation between (6,4) SWNT growth and plasma CVD conditions for further increasing the purity of (6,4) SWNTs. As a result, it is clarified that the purity of (6,4) SWNTs is influenced by the radio frequency power used for plasma generation. The purity of (6,4) SWNTs can be increased up to 64% by adjusting plasma condittions. This suggest that certain active species in the plasma phase can contribute to deciding the preferential synthesis of specific chirality SWNTs.
