We have proposed and developed many types of antenna-coupled-electrode LiNbO3 electro-optic modulators using antenna-coupled electrodes composed of a pair of planar patch antennas and a standing-wave resonant electrode. By utilizing the polarization-reversed technique to the antenna-coupled-electrode modulators, the directivity control in wireless-optical signal conversion or optical SSB modulation characteristics are obtainable. In this report, a new optical SSB modulator operating in the 60 GHz-band with an improved conversion efficiency is presented.
